2025 VIBE Brilliantly Scholarship Application

 

Who may apply:  High School students, existing college students and non-traditional college students entering college Fall 2026-2027 that reside within Missouri and Kansas.

Scholarship application opens Monday, July 14, 2025 and closes Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 11:59pm.

Scholarship recipients will be contacted by October 1, 2025 and must be present at the 12th Anniversary Scholarship and Awards Gala Ceremony Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 1213 Wyandotte St, Kansas City, MO 64108.

Help increase the number of annual scholarships given by purchasing a Gala ticket.

Eligibility Criteria for 2025 VIBE Brilliantly Scholarship

Various non-renewable scholarships will be awarded by the chapter to high school seniors and adult/non-traditional students annually as funds permit.

Scholarship Award Recipients must provide (1.) Proof of acceptance by the University or College and, (2.) Proof of full-time enrollment to receive award letter and scholarship payout to the school.

To be eligible to receive an NCBW-KC scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

a) Resident of Missouri or Kansas.
b) Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
c) High School students, existing college students and non-traditional college students entering college Fall 2026-2027 that reside within Missouri and Kansas.
d) Low-income/Demonstrates financial need*

* If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, we may require you or your parents to submit documents verifying your income.

Required Documents

  • Completed application (Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be considered)
  • One letter of recommendation from a teacher, advisor, employer, or community member
  • High school or college transcript
  • Personal Essay (500 words maximum) addressing the following questions:
    • Why do you feel you should receive the NCBW scholarship?
    • What are your academic and career goals?
    • How will the scholarship help you achieve your goals?

Applications must be emailed or postmarked by Sunday, September 14, 2025.
