The event is hosted and facilitated by NCBW-KC. The purpose of this educational workshop and training is to empower community members and voters to amplify their voice in the democratic process to help hold elected officials accountable through the use effective tools and resources. Attendees will engage in hands-on exercises to demonstrate how to effectively engage with elected officials through various forms of communication, while also discussing dos and don’ts of advocacy. The workshop will leave the community members and voters with a sense of confidence when engaging with elected officials. Community members will walk away with a professional toolkit to strengthen their civic engagement efforts. There is no cost to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
