The educational scholarships are awarded to traditional college students who are graduating high school Seniors and non-traditional current college students in need, that meet the scholarship eligibility requirements. Each scholarship recipient receives $1,000 to go towards tuition and education essentials. Each year at our premier fundraiser, Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala, NCBW-KC awards 10 scholarships and honors community members and organization for the great work they do in the Kansas City communities serving the population we serve, underserved persons and youth. Scholarship recipients are awarded in November at The Ebony Rose Scholarship & Awards Gala where guests will hear from scholarship recipients on their education and career goals, personal stories of triumph and success. Gala proceeds help sustain the scholarship fund and longevity of the scholarship program. Scholarships are paid out in the following year.
